Club Rules & Policies
Mad River Poker Club is committed to providing a safe, fair, and enjoyable
poker experience for all players. Please review the following rules and
policies before your visit.
General Club Rules
- All players must be 21 years of age or older with valid government-issued photo ID
- Active club membership is required to play ($20/year or $5/day pass)
- No outside food or beverages — full bar and snack service available on-site
- No smoking inside the club — designated outdoor smoking area available
- Cell phone use is prohibited at the table during active hands
- Management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone
- Players must maintain appropriate behavior — abusive language, threats, or harassment will result in immediate removal
Poker Room Rules
- English only at the table during active hands
- Cards must remain above the table and visible at all times
- Players may not discuss hand contents with other players during an active hand
- String bets are not allowed — announce your action clearly before placing chips
- Verbal declarations are binding — if you say "raise," you must raise
- Players are responsible for protecting their own hands
- All chips must be visible — you may not hide large-denomination chips behind smaller stacks
- One player per hand — no coaching or assistance from spectators
Tournament-Specific Rules
- All tournaments follow Tournament Directors Association (TDA) rules
- Players must be in their seat when the last card is dealt to receive a hand
- Late registration is open for the first 4 blind levels (80 minutes for standard events)
- One re-entry per event during the late registration period
- At final table, ICM deal discussions are permitted. All players must agree for any deal to be made
- Tournament chips have no cash value and may not leave the tournament area
- Accidentally exposed cards during a deal will follow standard TDA misdeal procedures
Cash Game Rules
- Minimum and maximum buy-ins are posted at each table
- New players and re-buys must buy in for at least the table minimum
- Players may not remove chips from the table ("going south") while in an active game
- Missed blind rules apply — players returning to a game must post or wait for the big blind
- All-in situations: when a player goes all-in, all remaining players' hands must be tabled
- Table changes must be requested through the floor staff

Dispute Resolution
The floor manager's decision is final in all disputes. If a situation is not covered by TDA rules or house rules, the floor manager will make a ruling in the interest of fairness and the spirit of the game. Players may appeal decisions to the club director during normal business hours.
